how to learn and use new words

stevecs: Hi! I think learning new words and using new words is a big problem for the students.So,here I can only tell you one advice and if you know more or better suggestion just log on and tell us. My advice is:watch more movies from America,but do not listen to the Chinese translation or just listen to the English and watch the Chinese title,while you are watching the movie,there must some English idioms,why not press the pause it and take a note on the it.For the "using new words" you can first try to understand the full meanings of the word and write sentences with the word,and you'll learn the "new word" in no time.Hi! I don not agree to memorize single words before,but now as the result of CET6,i have to use the vocabulary boollet to memorize, factully,it is usefull,of course ,the key is that you should find opportunities to use them ,look for a partner to practise is ok. Memorize single word is a little hard and easiler to forget than you keep it in your heart when you read it in the magzine and newspaper or any other passages you are intersted in. But it is a necessary way for the exam. Oral English is the most importment part on the way of learning English. It is my own experience as well as many of my friends'.If you are a bashful person who do not like to chat with others, it doesn't matter! You can learn to sing English songs.Sing it loudly, it is the same as read loudly,but more interesting.Moreover,watch foreign movies is a really good choice.Come on!
